We're adding all types of businesses on the Rossendale info website. From building companies to hairdressers, and any other type of business who wants to gain visitors from people searching online for services and products.
Over the next few weeks and months, we'll be adding local Rossendale businesses to this website. We believe in shopping local and our mission is to promote local businesses to local people in the Rossendale area. #shoplocal #rossendale
Quite simply, we're a hyperlocal geo domain website. How does that help local businesses?
Rossendale.info is what it is. Easily recognised, it's the name of the area we all live in, so more likely to attract local visitors looking for info about the area.
The Rossendale website is part of a network of local websites, and we launched the Bury website in 2016 and Ramsbottom site in 2021.
Hi All,
My name is Ian Ratcliffe and I'm the owner and founder of the local info websites.
You'll have seen them popping up on Social Media and Google, Bury.info Ramsbottom.info and now this website for Rossendale.
I live in Rawtenstall and I'm originally from Crawshawbooth, so I'm a Rossendalian, (bad pun, sorry).
I used to work for a company based in London in 2010, called MyCityDeal, you'll know them better now as Groupon. They're an Online marketing company from the US.
In the age of the Internet, it's so much easier to connect to potential customers through apps and online websites and you can do almost anything from your mobile whilst sat in your armchair. You can even order your tea! That's Northern for Dinner, which in Lancashire we have a lunchtime. Like I said, I'm local.
Personally, I get frustrated trying to search for things online, too many Advertisements or irrelevant search results, when all I want to do is find what I'm after in 2 to 3 clicks.
For this reason, I set up the websites in 2016, having first launched the Bury website with the aim of a clear, simple and easy webpage for each business. Each webpage is like a mini website in it's own right!
In fact, anyone can set up a website, it's quite easy these days. What's not easy though, is getting your website found unless you have a massive marketing budget. It can cost up to £1200 for 5-6 page website and a few £100's to get your SEO done correctly (search engine optimisation), and then you need to pay for online advertising.
My idea is much simpler, put a lot of local businesses on a 100% Mobile Friendly local website, that way they can share the cost.
How Local?
Very local in fact, and I first heard the phrase 'hyperlocal' from a mate of mine who worked at Google. Sounds cool, what does it mean though?
It's basically according to Wikipedia, "information oriented around a well-defined community." You could say it's Geo Location Marketing Online. Hyperlocal just sounds a little more cool I guess.
So here we have the name of a town/area, followed by the ending dot info eg Ramsbottom.info ps The dot com for Ramsbottom doesn't have a website. It's for sale though if you have a few £1000's. Single name geodomains are expensive. It's like owning the best piece of real estate online.
I went one step further, and not only did I set up a hyperlocal website for businesses in Bury, I bought the info domain for Bury, Bury.info. The domain name attracts local people.
It's short and memorable and easily identifiable to local people. Bury(dot)com is owned by a large German manufacturer.
Each of the domains/websites is the name of a town/city/area, and they're 100% mobile friendly, with each page SEO optimised so that they get found online. If you've tried to do this, you'll know it's not easy to rank for the Specific Keyword for your business and area.
If you're a small to medium sized business, who are looking to attract more local customers in Rossendale, then feel free to get in touch.
As we've said, we're a local website for local businesses, so if you want to get found by local people looking for your services Online, what better way than a local Rossendale website. Info about businesses is what people are looking for.
It's for all types of businesses, so don't think you're not eligible to have a webpage for your business
